With the year coming to an end and the New Year approaches, like every tech company, Samsung is looking to dazzle us with their product lines. Samsung’s famous Galaxy series is picking a lot of hype and Samsung is stoking that fire as well. The Galaxy A8s has already launched, and so far Samsung has delivered what it promised with the phone. Read the detailed specs for the A8s here.
Release date news
According to a report by the Gizmodo UK, Samsung was originally releasing the Galaxy S10 at the Mobile Congress 2019 event scheduled to be held from 26th to 28th February. However, Samsung is going to hold an event dedicated to the S10 launch, on 20th February. If that isn’t great news for the people waiting for the latest Galaxy S series variant, I don’t know what is. The Phone is scheduled to be available at retail shops from 8th March. Consumers can also pre-order the phone from the launch date as well.
Three variants
The leaks suggest that the Galaxy S10 will be available in 3 variants, the regular variant, the Plus variant, and the Flat variant. Point of interest here is that Samsung is looking to give us a feeling of Nostalgia by releasing the Flat screen variant.
Screen Sizes and other features
The phone will contain the Infinity OLED display. Samsung has already launched a phone with that feature, Galaxy A8s. The Infinity OLED display means that phone’s screen will contain a hole which has the selfie camera to avoid the much complained about, ‘notch.’ Samsung has also introduced the feature knows as Powershare, meaning that the phone will be able to wirelessly charge other devices as well. This feature seems familiar as we have seen the similar feature in Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
No specs, about the size of the batteries, have been leaked so far. The phones will contain an ultrasonic in-screen Fingerprint Scanner, which is much better than the optical scanner that formed an image of your finger in 2D. OnePlus 6T and other devices are using optical scanners which are not as secure as this ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. It does more than just bouncing light off your fingerprint.
The flat screen variant or Galaxy S10 Lite, as its being called, will have a display size of 5.8-inches and will probably have a storage unit of 128 GB. Simultaneously, the S10 will come packed with a screen size of 6.1 inches and will have further two variants which will house the 128 GB and 512 GB respectively. The prices of the variants are estimated to be £800 for the Lite version and £1000 for the regular version.
Records to be broken
The S10 plus version is looking to break the record of “world’s most expensive phone,” which iPhone X held, with an expected price tag of a Hefty $1400-1800. That is not the only record-breaking aspect of the phone as the phone will come in a variant which will house a massive storage unit of 1TB. However, the plus version will also release three variants with 128GB, 512 GB and 1TB storage capacities. The screen size of the S10 Plus variant is expected to have a rumored 6.7 inch with six camera sensors, although the details are pretty sketchy on that one. It might be Samsung’s most expensive phone before the release of rumored Galaxy X phone that’s supposed to be the first foldable phone by Korean giant.
5G capable device
Both the Lite and regular variant will house three cameras as reported by previous leaks. Whether the camera sensors will house a 48MP resolution or not remains to be seen. 5G technology won’t be available at the time of the launch, as it is rumored to be available in the late Q2 of 2019. Samsung will probably release a special edition of the S10 with 5G capability later in the year.
