Realme 2 Pro – Breakthrough in Budget Section

Sub-brands seem to be fashionable this year for manufacturers of Chinese phone makers.

If we talk about Huawei, Honor continues its major campaign this year in Europe and Southeast Asia. ZTE began its return by launching a phone under its Nubia banner. Xiaomi recently made a big leap with its incredibly affordable Pocophone with all the high-end specs with a price of $300.

Now, we have Oppo which just launched its own sub-brand Realme.
Oppo’s Realme 2 Pro offers high-value for your buck. It’s the best smartphone you could buy in that range. Let’s dive in and discuss its specs.

Look and Feel of Realme 2 Pro:

The phone has a glass back with chamfered edges; all made with aluminum edges. A 6.3-inch display is enough to compete with other smartphone displays. The bezel is also minimal with a small notch. By small we mean really small.

Internal Specs of Realme 2 Pro:

You’ll find a powerful Snapdragon 660 processor with massive 8GB of RAM. With this processor and RAM, you’ll not face any lag in a day to day usage and heavy gaming. Snapdragon 660 is one of the top processors for mid-range devices. The phone packs 3,500mAh which is decent enough for your daily use. However, there is no fast charging feature in Realme 2 Pro.

Xiaomi made a modified OS specifically for Pocofone in order to differentiate it between other MI devices with MIUI.

Just like Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro has almost the exact “ColorOS”. ColorOS is famous in Oppo devices and the company didn’t change anything here. The version of ColorOS is 5.2. Like the name says, ColorOS is a very colorful OS with bright colors. The phone runs Android Oreo 8.1.

Realme 2 Pro Camera:

The Realme 2 Pro has a dual back camera setup. A 16 megapixels and 2 megapixels rear camera. The primary sensor positioned behind a fast f/1.7 lens. This dual camera setup includes a pair of Sony IMX398. The glass of both the cameras is protected by the sapphire glass to prevent from scratches. The camera is also equipped with dual pixel fast focus and EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) for video shooting. The phone also supports 4K video with 30 frames per second.

The front camera in the notch has 16 megapixels resolution and f/2.0 lens. The display is protected by the layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. These cameras also feature AI scene recognition, AI beautification, and AR stickers.

Other features which include value added in this device is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM support, and 4G VoLTE capability. 3.5 mm headphone jack is also available in this device.  Other than these features Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS, USB OTG, micro USB also included.

Realme 2 Pro pricing and availability:

The phone is available in three colors – Deep Blue, Light Blue, and Black. For India, the introductory price is INR 13,990. This equals to US$192 AND €165 for the 4/64 GB version.

INR 15,990 for 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. This price is equivalent to US$220 and €188.

If you want the best out from Hardware, you should go for 8GB and 128GB variant. This is going to cost you INR 17,990 which is equivalent to US$250 and €212. Oppo is planning to launch this device on October 11th  on Flipkart. During launch offer, buyers could include no cost EM and 1.1TB of data for Reliance Jio users.
