Dual screen Nubia smartphone is leaked on Chinese Website

Dual screen Nubia smartphone
A dual screen Nubia smartphone has been leaked on Chinese website TENAA. The phone has caused some controversy because of its dual screen.

A dual screen Nubia smartphone has been leaked on the Chinese website TENAA. This will finally put the rumors we had been hearing for months, to rest. The site has listed many tech specs. The most prominent is the phone will have two screens.
We got the first leaked images of this phone back at the end of June. The phone was given an unofficial name of Nubia Z18S.
The phone will have a TFT display in the front and an OLED display on the back. Another thing we noticed, is the lack of a selfie camera, which is unheard of in today’s day and age. This means that the users will have to use the main cameras for any selfie-related task.
It’s impressive that instead of using an e-ink screen or a tiny display, the Nubia device (model number NX616J) will have a 5.1 inch (1520 x 720 resolution) OLED display. This makes sense as OLED screens tend to be battery efficient.
The TFT front screen will be a massive 6.26-inch screen with a 2280 x 1080 resolution. Luckily, the phone is said to have a pretty decent battery rated at 3800mAh. We will have to see how this battery holds up in day-to-day use.
It is sad however that this phone won’t have a headphone jack. Personally, I can’t live without a headphone jack, so I can’t wait for this trend to die.
The phone will have an unnamed 2.649Ghz octa-core processor. It will most likely be Snapdragon 845 SoC. The phone will have 6 or 8 GB RAM and have 64 and 128 GB storage options.
From the leaks, it appears that the phone won’t have any expandable storage.
It will however come with Android 8.1, which isn’t the latest version of Android. Apart from the Google Pixel phones, other phones are still waiting for the update. So this shouldn’t be a dealbreaker for most.
There is a lot of controversy regarding the cameras on this phone. According to TENAA, the phone will have two cameras; 24 MP and 16 MP.
But it is unclear whether the phone will have dual cameras or 16 MP selfie shooter and the second one being a rear shooter.
This follows in line with Nubia Z18’s 24MP+16MP rear camera combo.
The leaked video shows the phone having a dual camera setup, while TENAA lists it as having selfie camera and a secondary camera. We will just have to wait for the phone’s official release before making any profound claims.
With the recent leaked video and TENAA’s official specifications, the hype around this phone has been unreal.
Only time will tell if the rear screen is actually useful, or just a gimmick to create publicity and media frenzy.
